Event Scheduler: Time controlled reboot of the bintec Router
Daily reboot of the bintec router at a certain time. Example with a bintec VPN Access 25 with Bootimage 7.4.1.



1. Preliminary Notes
  • Precondition for the Event Scheduler is a router time later than 01/01/2000.
  • The bootimage version has to be 7.4.1 or higher.
  • The configuration is done in the Setup Tool in the menu System, Schedule & Monitor, Event Scheduler (Time & SNMP).
  • A general description can be found in Release Notes 7.1.4 and Release Notes 7.4.1.


2. Configuration
In this example the bintec router automatically reboots short-time after 3 a.m every day.

2.4 Changing the "Schedule Interval"
The "Schedule Interval" is defined by the variable "biboExtAdmScheduleInterval" in the table "extadmin". Event Scheduler = enabled sets the "Schedule Interval" to the default value of 300 seconds.  Changing the value (e.g. 50 seconds) is possible by the following input at the SNMP Shell:

vpn25:> ScheduleInterval=50

3. Test
Display of date, debug messages and scheduled reboot on the serial console:
