Configure the first IPSec connection via the HTML-Wizard
This instruction shows the first step-by-step IPSec configuration via the HTML-Wizard to enable a secure connection between two networks. This instruction shows an example configuration of a X1200II (Image 7.2.1 patch9) with DynDNS and Preshared Keys. The second router (e.g. VPN25) is configured equal to the X1200II.

2. Preliminary Note:
  • Connect the device to the LAN as described in the short description of your Gateway 
  • Keep your data ready for the internet access
  • Consider the guidelines of your provider 

3. Run the HTML-Wizard
  • Enter the IP address of your routers into your browser
  • Click on "Initial Configuration".
  • Logon to your router with login and password
  • Choose configuration mode after the language selection

Choose the desired configuration chapter: 

Press "NEXT" two times and enter the IP address and Subnetmask of the router.

Press "NEXT" two times and the system password.

For security reasons we recommend to change the system password!

ISDN is not required because the internet access is established via DSL.

In the next window you can verify the settings once more. 

Click on "NEXT" two times

In the next step the internet connection is configured. Choose your corresponding provider. Here e.g. T-Online.

Choose your connection type:

Enter your internet account data:

Click two time "NEXT" and check again your settings you have entered for the internet connection.

Click two times "NEXT" and then ADD and choose IPSec as connection type.

Choose your scenario. In this example scenario 3, with DynDNS and two dynamic IP addresses.

Enter your IPSec data for identification and authentication:

Choose "dynamic" in the following window.

Enter the DynDNS address of the remote site in Peer Address.

Enter the destination network to which the connection will be established in the following window. As local IP address the LAN IP address of the router is displayed.

After entering the IP address than on "NEW". The route is accepted.

The IPSec configuration is finished now.

In the following window please enter the data of your DynDNS account.

Click on "NEXT" to verify the settings just entered.

In the following window please choose "Delete all the previous wizard savings" and click "APPLY"

The router now transfers and activates the entered configuration to the flash memory.

After the configuration has been transferred successfully a final message is displayed. Now you can configure the VPN 25 analog to the X1200 II. Please consider to adjust Peer Address, Peer ID and Local ID corresponding.
