This FAQ describes how to administrate the Dial-Out users via RADIUS.

RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial In User Service) is used in fact - as the name implies - for the administration of Dial-In Users.
The requirement for an implementation which retrieves user data from a server for outgoing connections grows.
There are three basic tasks which argue that:
  • The amount of possible connection partners is huge. On the Brick it is only possible to configure and administrate up to 500 partners because of the memory demand. In some projects there are constellations with a couple of thousand partners.
  • More devices have to be on the same configuration state (redundancy and parallel operation).
  • The data for the connection partners are stored in a database and have to be transferred in the Brick configuration.
